Puppy pics

At last! I forgot to take the film into town to get developed last week.

This is Berry with puppies at a couple of days old. There are four black ones (a bit hard to spot them all) and a grey one and a patchwork one.

The photo above probably shows them off best. There is a jet black puppy, then the patchwork, then two duller blacks, then the grey, then another black pup with a white spot on his back.

Can't you just see her thinking, "can't a new mother get a moments privacy"! That's Berry's curly coat on her side not her ribs although she was very thin after whelping. She's was on four meal a day trying to fatten her up without over loading her system but is down to three a day now. Probably impossible to fatten her while she is feeding six of them. They are looking very rotund!

And this is the father, Diesel, skulking off to the garden before he gets roped in for puppy minding!

Puppies are now with Berry in the run outside and are almost 2 weeks old. Their eyes are just starting to open but they can't really see anything yet. That will happen rapidly over the next couple of days. They still "paddle" about on their tummies but are starting to get their legs actually underneath them so will probably become mobile in about a week.

I can't get photos in the doghouse because I'm too close but by next week, I think they'll be venturing out so get ready for another batch of photos.

Awww, they are so cute!! I suppose that's to be expected, though, with such gorgeous parents...
Thank you so much for posting these! I don't dare show them to my dog - she'd be so jealous!

Good heavens! You were quick. I'm still skulking about the site!

They are cute, eh!

OMG so cute!! Thanks Dawn so much for the happy puppy photos. I have been under a lot of stress lately, and this totally made my day, thank you!

Can't wait for the next batch (of pics that is)!

(BTW, can I say I am very mad at your country right now. Two of my closest friends are moving there, one for two years another for a bit less. Sigh. Well the excuses to visit your fair land just keep piling up - you, my friends and of course, Pete.)

Awwwwww, SQUEE!!!! They are so precious!

(SQUEE is the noise I make when I'm overwhelmed by sheer cuteness. :) )

ps -- sorry for the deleted comment above -- it was due to a horrid typo.

Huh! So you are still alive...

I've never allowed any of my girls to have puppies. Too many dramas and takes a chunk out of Miss Prozac's pinot gris budget but always happy to admire other's 4 legged sprogs

Adorable! I was glad to see the third photo though, I was beginning to think that Berry was totally ignoring you.
Thanks for the photos, can't wait to see more.

Puppies, adorable puppies!

Definitely worth the wait.

While I wouldn't want to give birth to and nurse a litter of pups, I do like the idea of being put on extra rations...

Oh. But that would be dog food, wouldn't it.

Thanks so much for posting those!

Hi Dawn,

I'm just checking in to see how the puppies are doing and how your writing is coming along.

If you have the opportunity, pop over to Adrienne's blog and see the news I left for her. I thought you should know since you "introduced" us.

Terrie
