They were actually traveling inside the drum for safety but made a brief appearance for publicity!
These are two young pigs about 2 months old, fully weaned and ready to venture forth. In their case, this means being released into the wild where they will take their chances as to what life holds for them. These two little boys were smaller than they looked in the pic.
This is something that many New Zealand pig hunters do - release pigs into the wild. Some will grow to a ripe old age and father or mother many youngsters. Others will be caught and killed.
It's the luck of the draw.
Their release point will be a quiet place where by common agreement no one will be hunting. As they mature they'll roam further afield. One day, they will likely run into a pig hunter and his dog.
I wished these two young fellows rapid growth, long legs and a wily brain. If I ever see them again, I hope it's dashing up a steep hill, laughing at the dog laboring behind them and escaping back into the bush.

What smart-looking and well-turned out hogs. I am sure they will be Swine Kings of the Wild
They are certainly good looking stock! (And I have to agree with you about my wishes for their long and healthy future....)
Hi Dawn,
Thanks for a glimpse of these two cuties before they sally forth to see what the world has in store for them.
Terrie
Leah - I have a soft spot for pigs so I certainly hope they make it.
Baggie - They were fast asleep in the drum when they arrived here.
Their father, I understand, is the length of that trailer. Took a shove to fit him in when he was transported to friend's place.
Terrie - Friend said they are both great little wanderers on his property so I imagine they are busy foraging around their release point without a care in the world at the moment.
Oh, what fabulous piglets! :-) I hope they outwit the pig hunters and live long lives.
What a cute pair. May they live long and happy lives and outwit many a dog & hunter both.
Happy New Year Dawn!
Thomma Lyn and Reb - We all seem to be on the side of the piglets! Certainly many of them do survive into ripe old age. I hope these two lads are in that group.
